Unbeaten Run Preserved.........

Westland Sports 1 Swans 1

A determined Swans side battled hard with Westland Sports for a 1-1 draw in a fiercely contested Dorset Premier League encounter.

Swans started brightly, creating an early chance when Josh Reavenall-Nuete’s shot was saved by Sports keeper Wallis. Just four minutes into the game, Albie Turner opened the scoring for the Swans with a precise header from a Kelson Pollard cross, putting the visitors ahead, 0-1.

Swans keeper Brad Smith made a crucial save to preserve the lead, denying Sports a chance to equalise . Swans looked to extend their advantage but missed opportunities, with Paul Best mishitting a shot from a promising position. Brad Smith once again showcased his shot-stopping abilities, keeping the scoreline at 0-1 as both teams headed into the break. H.T. 0-1.

Swans resumed the second half with the same intensity. Kelson Pollard nearly doubled their lead with a free kick that went just wide, with the keeper beaten. Sports counter attacked with Phil Ormrod missing a significant opportunity to level the score.

Ocean Smith put in excellent work on the wing for Swans, delivering a cross that Turner couldn’t quite convert from close range. However, Sports eventually found their equaliser in the 70th minute when Phil Ormrod scored from close range.

Swans kept pushing, with Reavenall-Nuete’s cross finding Pollard, whose shot narrowly missed the target. Both teams had chances in the latter stages, but neither could find a winning goal. Paul Best and Cohen Lee worked tirelessly in midfield, breaking up play and creating opportunities for the Swans.

Swans showed great resilience against strong opponents away from home. Manager Craig Adams , who remains unbeaten since his appointment in mid-September, praised his team after the match:

“Brilliant point today against another good side at DPL level. Five players missing from last week’s squad, but an outstanding team performance from the players available. Sweat and courage in abundance. We march on.”

This hard-fought draw keeps Swanage’s unbeaten run alive under Adam’s leadership.
